Why Give?

Why Give?

Cate School's ability to remain one of the top boarding schools in the country requires the support of its alums, parents and friends. Because of Cate’s relative youth and small size when compared to its peers schools, competing institutions enjoy a much larger resource base. Cate relies upon philanthropy and income from our endowment to provide nearly a quarter of the revenue for annual operating expenses. The annual Cate Fund provides the most flexible source of financial support which allows Cate to fulfill its purpose every day.

Gifts to the annual Cate Fund have a direct impact on everyday life at Cate and help the School provide the many excellent academic, residential, and extracurricular opportunities that are a hallmark of the institution’s history.  Some examples of the essential goods and services supported by theses funds:

  • Faculty salaries
  • Financial Aid
  • Building improvements and maintenance
  • Laboratory and athletic equipment
  • Academic and extracurricular programs
  • Maintenance of CateNet

The power and impact of your gift to Cate, a small school, is real. Your gift will benefit promising young men and women at the most defining time in their lives.  A gift to Cate builds upon a strong academic and residential program creating future leaders with character and an ingrained sense of Servons.
