We are writing to tell you of some very sad news. Alison (1989) and her family found out late last week that her brother, Mark Metherell '87 is no longer with us. Mark was a good brother, a wonderful friend, a loving husband and a devoted father. He is survived by his wife Sarah, and his one year old daughter Cora. Mark was an ex- Navy SEAL. He was in Iraq helping to train Iraqi soldiers when they were hit by a roadside bomb.
The memorial service for Mark will be at Mariners Church in Irvine,California this coming Saturday, April 19th, at 10am in the main sanctuary. Please visit http://www.marinerschurch.org/ for directions.

Words fail at a time like this. Please pass along my condolences to the family. They won't know me, you can just tell them I was one of the many anonymous people on whom Mark had a positive impact. Though I haven't seen him since high school, he was one of the good guys even back then. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
