Wine and Tanks PICTURES...

Another great family day, a Saturday afternoon picnic, a chance to see Jacques’ world class military armored vehicles and spectacular produce from Cate vintner families, was a truly wonderful combination. Jacques had talked about a return visit for a couple of years and the plan itself was wonderfully successful except for Jacques lost his battle with cancer; he passed away just a couple months ago.

This event has become so popular that Ben Williams invited the Cate faculty to join in by providing a bus to bring everyone up so they could enjoy the tasting and collection.  Unseasonal rain predictions kept a few away, but that now means there is enough wine to have a tasting for those faculty members who could not make it to the event this year. 

Two of the wineries were represented as Austin Hills Jr. poured Grgich Hills and Richard Tanner, with his daughter Kelsey '06 gave us a first time taste of Tanner Vineyards. Another first time Cate family, Terry and Lawrence Sterling from the Iron Horse Vineyards, also joined our ranks, as their son Joseph entered this year as a freshman.
