Alisa Ahlstone Lewis '89 recently launched a new website:
Sweet Peas & Stilettos – The Modern Mommy Guide.
The idea originated from a desire for a really simple, organized portal with links to all of the very best products, services and information related to family, food, home, work, charitable giving and family travel.
Alisa adds, "Of course, I had to include lots of great shopping (super luxe to super deals) for shoes, handbags, sparkly baubles and all those sorts of fabulous things too. I found that I was ripping out articles from magazines, doodling notes about great shops and products that friends were telling me about, and saving endless email newsletters that simply had the name of one website or store I thought I might want to visit some day. I finally decided I wanted quick links to everything in one place so I wouldn't have to waste my time searching, and I figured I probably wasn't the only one who would like to have everything in one place."
Ironically, this project took 9 months from conception to delivery. Alisa still works full time at my day job and has been working 9 o'clock to midnight most nights over these last many many months pulling this all together.
Alisa started her first company when she was a junior at Cate. An article was written about herand Dip n Sip Chocolate Covered Spoons in the Santa Barbara paper and later picked up by the Associated Press. This led to her first big account at Bloomingdales!
