DOROT ORGANIZATION
GIFT WRAPPING FOR THE ELDERLY - CATE SERVONS
New York - December 13, 2009
On Sunday, December 13,2009 six Cate alumni gathered together to wrap gifts purchased by Barnes & Noble customers, an event which supported the DOROT organization. DOROT provides food, housing, companionship, education, and cultural enrichment to thousands of elderly New Yorkers and fosters friendship and respect between the generations. DOROT enhances the lives of elderly through dedicated staff and over 10,000 volunteers.
A big thank you to the following Cate alumni who attended: Michael Yoon '09, Gabriela Hempfling '09, Karla Casariega '08, Beth Guadagni '00, Emily Hsu '97, & Patrick Ko '97.
Emily Hsu commented on the event: "I really enjoyed the volunteer opportunity. I know some of us always have the heart to do something but often have difficulties following through without A LOT of motivation, so having Cate be the driving force really made it a no brainer. Additionally, it is always amazing to meet other Caties. I am grateful for the opportunity especially since I had just returned to NYC in October and have not had many great sources as to what I can do in terms of charity work."
